2. This week, we are going to start using Edgenuity, and we will use the online program until we return to school. There are three units posted that you need to try and complete by May 8. - Take roll.
- Tells students to take out their Rooftops novels. Ask them to discuss what happened in Chapter 13 with their elbow partners. Give them 2 minutes or so.
- Tell them to open up to page 131. Please read Chapter 14 with them. You can start and then call on volunteers. Once you are done, tell students to take out their Chapter Summaries. They need to do the summary for Chapter 14 with their partner.
- Take out Vocab. List for Rooftops of Tehran. Tell students to work with their elbow partners. They need to review the words for List 2, and find synonyms and antonyms.
- Tell students to take out their SSR books and their Reading Logs. They need to read for 25 minutes. About ten minutes before you stop, walk around and stamp their Participation boxes. They get TWO stamps if they are reading their SSR book, but they only get ONE stamp if they are reading Rooftops of Tehran.
- Pass out Character Biography Slides Assignment. Please read the assignment with them, and tell them that it must be uploaded into Google Classroom by Tuesday fourth period next week. THEY MUST DO THIS WITH THEIR ELBOW PARTNER. The code to open the Chromebook cart is: 9872. My TAs can help if you have trouble. Tell the students to grab their Chromebooks. They can also help walk around to make sure that kids are on track. They have the rest of the period today, and quite a bit of time on Friday to complete this.

1. Take roll. Tell students to take out their Chapter Summaries and Rooftops of Tehran book. Give them ten minutes to do the row for Chapter 2.
2. Once the ten minutes are up, tell students to open up to page 21. They need to read to page 35. You can start by reading with them or calling on volunteers and then you can have them finish the rest independently. Once students start finishing the reading, pass out the Chapter 3 questions. They need to answer them in complete sentences and turn in by the end of the period. They also need to finish the row on the summary worksheet for Chapter 3.
3. Once students finish, turn in their completed Chapter 3 worksheet to you, allow them to work on their No Red Ink homework.
4. At 12:25, tell students to put away the Chromebooks. They also need to read their SSR books until the end of the period. Remind them to take out their Reading Logs. 1. Propaganda Anticipation Guide - Students need to circle how they feel about the eleven statements; then they need to pick FIVE to write a one-sentence rationale to explain their views. We shared them in class.
2. Pass out Propaganda Images. Read the top of handout. With elbow partners, students write in the left margin of each image: three objects that they see. Then underneath, they wrote down the purpose of each image. Share ideas.
3. We read the back of the worksheet and students wrote a three sentence response answering the question about the coup.
4. We started reading Chapter 12.
*Homework was altered for tonight. Students need to finish Chapter 12 reading, but they don't have to do the notes. We will do them in class tomorrow.
